How to make a floor plan in 4 steps

    Pick a start

    Start from a ready-made studio, 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom layout, or from a blank sheet.

    Draw rooms

    Choose the “Room” tool and drag a rectangle — walls are created automatically and the area is shown instantly.

    Add doors and windows

    Choose a door or window and click on a wall. Change width and swing direction in the right-hand panel.

    Save to your PC

    Download the plan as a PNG image, an SVG vector or print it to PDF. The project file (.json) keeps the plan editable.

Frequently asked questions

Is the floor plan maker free?

Yes. The tool is completely free, needs no account or email, and exports carry no watermark apart from a small “estiq.ee” credit.

How do I save the floor plan to my computer?

Click “PNG”, “SVG” or “Print / PDF”. PNG suits listings, SVG is a scalable vector file and PDF is for printing. “Save file” downloads a .json file you can reopen and edit later with “Open”.

Can I save the plan online and edit it later?

Yes. Click “Save online” to get a private link that opens the plan for editing on any device. Later changes are saved automatically. Without that button the plan stays only in your browser.

Do the measurements have to be exact?

No. If you drew the plan approximately, switch off “Dimensions” in the toolbar — wall lengths, dimension lines and areas disappear from the screen and from the PNG/SVG/PDF export.

How is room area calculated?

Area is calculated as net floor area: half of each wall’s thickness is subtracted from the room outline, so rooms are measured between the inner wall faces. Balconies and terraces can be marked separately and are not counted in the living area total. For an official figure, measure the rooms on site.

Can I use the plan in a sale listing?

Yes. A clear floor plan is one of the most viewed parts of a property listing. Export it as PNG and add it to your listing photos.
